your birth belongs to you
Welcome! I’m Niko!
I am a full spectrum doula, a mother and a devoted believer in the healing and transformational power of birth.
Birth is both a sacred journey and a very normal human experience. I strive to balance the innate mystery of birth with a practical preparedness and deep intention.
I am committed to supporting the perfect design of physiologic birth, and believe wholeheartedly in the beauty of letting birth unfold without disruption. I also recognize that navigating medical interventions is a real reality of birth work.
As we adventure into the unknown together, I will hold space for whatever arises, be there to do what’s needed in each moment, and trust that YOU know your body and baby best.
I was personally called to birth work after many years feeling dis-empowered in the US medical system. After navigating my own complicated termination in 2019, and a devastating loss in 2022, I completed my birth doula training while pregnant with my rainbow son, Elio.
I gave birth to Elio unexpectedly and had to navigate a major “change in plans”. During my planned-homebirth-turned—triumphant-hospital-birth, I learned the importance of real-time decision-making and the raw power of a mama’s conviction.
Giving birth, surrounded by my husband, doula and midwives, was the most intense, self-possessed, self-reclaiming and divine thing I will ever do.
I wish only that you may find what you are seeking in YOUR birth.
In my free time you can find me in my kitchen, in my garden, or on the trails chasing my husband and toddler.
I was trained by Michelle Welborn at Natural Resources in 2023. My certification is in-process.

I believe that physiologic birth is a natural, normal, bodily function, and is not inherently a medical emergency. Birth does not have to be traumatic or urgent. Birth can be joyful, un-rushed, restorative, peaceful. I believe that birth belongs to birthers, not the hospital we birth in, or our care providers, and it is my job to protect this process. I believe that the way our society treats birth is both limiting and harmful. “Healthy mom, healthy baby” is the bare minimum -- HOW we birth matters. Bodies are wise and know how to birth. Babies are wise and know how to be born. I believe birth is a sacred rite of passage, a portal with the ultimate opportunity to discover untapped inner resources of strength and power.
